January House, Sandhaven, Culross

January House in Sandhaven, Culross, is an earlier to mid-19th century, two-storey and attic, two-bay house constructed of stugged ashlar. It features ashlar vertical margins, an eaves course, corbelled skewputts, and a base course.

The principal elevation has an advanced bay to the right, which includes a door with a fanlight and a pilastered doorpiece topped with a corniced frieze. Above the door, there is a semi-circular arch window on the first floor. The bay has a gablet with a ball finial. To the right, there is a set-back bay with a central canted bay window on both the ground and first floors, each with a cornice.

On the south elevation, there is a bipartite window in the center of the first floor, which has a moulded hoodmould. The west elevation features a ground floor door to the left with a window above it on the first floor. There is also a ground floor window to the right and another window above it on the first floor. The house is adjoined to the right by 16 Sandhaven.

The north elevation is adjacent to Sandhaven House, owned by J Tarnawski. The house predominantly has two-pane timber sash and case windows with chamfered surrounds. It includes a rear rooflight, a panelled front door, and a timber boarded and glazed rear door. The roof is pitched with slate, featuring a piended roof over the bay window. The gable apex stacks are corniced, and there are polygonal clay cans.

The interior was not seen in 2001.
