Brewstead, 6 Main Street, Limekilns

Brewstead is an 18th-century house that has undergone later alterations. It is a symmetrical, two-storey building with an attic and three bays, featuring a central nepus gable. The exterior is harled, with a dressed stone eaves course and vertical margins at the corners and along the nepus gable.

On the south elevation, there is a central replacement door with a moulded stone doorpiece. Flanking the door are bipartite replacement windows on both the ground and first floors, with a single window centered above the door on the first floor. The nepus gable has two small windows, and the ground and first floor windows have concrete surrounds.

The west elevation is attached to 8 Main Street, while the east elevation is attached to 2 Main Street, known as The Bruce Arms. The roof is covered with purple grey slate and features skews and scroll skewputts. There is a moulded cornice along the nepus gable, which also has a chimney stack. The gable apex stacks are corniced, with the taller stack located to the right.

The interior was not seen in 2000.
