Description

13 Main Street in Limekilns is an 18th-century row of two two-storey houses, finished in harled render with raised surrounds around the openings.

The north elevation features an L-shaped design with a door on the right and a crowstepped gable to the left. There is a ground floor window and two first floor windows above. The outshots of 11 Main Street extend into the road, with a single storey section to the right that includes a window, and a door and first floor window to the left outshot. A slight ledge on the east wall of the left outshot once held the former forestair of the adjacent 9 Main Street. There is a plaque on No 11 that reads 'Bayne's Lodgings 1822'.

The east elevation is attached to 9 Main Street, while the south elevation is partially visible and shows two first floor windows belonging to 11 Main Street. The west elevation has a mid-floor window to the left and a first floor window, with crowsteps on the right and a flat wallhead on the left gable.

Most of the windows on 13 Main Street are replacement 12-pane timber sash and case, with modern replacement windows found elsewhere. The roofs are pitched, covered with modern red clay pantiles featuring slate easing courses on 13 Main Street, while 11 Main Street has a slate roof. There are crowstepped skews on No 11, and gable end stacks on both No 13 and No 11.

The interiors were not seen in 2000.
