Description
The Fountain Restaurant is a mid-18th century, two-storey, two-bay house with an attic. The exterior features harled, pointed random whinstone rubble with painted margins and chamfered arrises on the first floor. The ground floor openings have been significantly altered; there is a door with a strip fanlight to the outer right, an off-centre door opening that has been blocked and replaced with a window, and an enlarged window to the outer left. On the first floor, there are two widely spaced windows. The attic includes two slate-hung gabled dormers. The building has sash and case windows with a four-pane glazing pattern. The steeply pitched roof is covered with grey slates, has straight skews, and features brick stacks. There has been an extension at the rear.
