Description
Holt Down is a house from the mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is built of rubble that has been rendered and lined out, topped with a hipped slate roof featuring deep eaves and stone stacks on the sides. The house has two storeys and two windows, all of which are sashes in exposed boxes. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door with a triangular hood supported by slender piers. Above the door, there is a central octagonal recessed panel with a moulded edge, and the building has a plinth.
To the right, there is a wing that is set back and plain rendered, featuring a large sash window at ground level and a smaller sash window above. The rear of the house has three two-light casements on the first floor, with the central one set lower, as well as a small single light. There are also 20th-century plate-glass sliding doors to the right and a single-storey flat-roofed 20th-century addition to the left, which includes a door and two windows. The left wing has a 20th-century two-light window on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
