Description

The Cross in Wester Pencaitland is likely from the late 17th century. It is a market cross located at a road junction. The structure features a tapering octagonal shaft that supports a cubical sundial with a copper gnomon. This is set on a square pedestal made of weathered ashlar, which is raised on a base of five shallow steps.
