Description

The Old Market Cross in Mansfield is a market cross designed as a sundial, dating from around 1600 and restored in the late 20th century. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features a slightly tapered round shaft that supports a cubical sundial, which is topped with brass gnomons and a ball finial. The structure includes a chamfered plinth and a square pedestal, with a square base consisting of two steps.
