Description

Clowne Cross is a market cross that likely dates from the 14th century and the late 17th century. It is constructed of sandstone and features a polygonal design with three steps leading up to a square base that has broached and chamfered corners. At the top, there is a circular column with a simple base and capital. Above this is a square cube that serves as a sundial, topped with a ball finial.
