Description

Late 18th century. 2-storey mill house on falling ground

with slightly later additions at oblique angle, and later

alterations. Harl-pointed red rubble with ashlar dressings,

some droved.

W ELEVATION: 3-bay house with former door at centre

blocked as window. Windows in flanking bays and to each

bay at 1st floor. 2 bays at oblique angle to N, with door

to right and window above, 2 smaller windows to left bay.

2 lower storeys (former byre with hayloft?) to outer left

at N with 2 windows.

E ELEVATION: asymmetrical; 1st floor windows enlarged.

Modern porch addition at ground to outer left and modern

conservatory to outer right of house, shielded from

outbuilding by projecting screen wall. Lean-to rubble

outbuilding adjoined to S gable wall with 1st floor window

to left. 12-pane glazing pattern predominating in sash

and case windows. Grey slates; pantiled piend to

outbuilding to N. Variety of stacks to gable wallheads.
