Description
The Market Cross in The Square, Gifford, dates from the late 18th century and has undergone later repairs. It features a stone shaft, which was replaced in 1954, set on a square base consisting of three weathered steps and a larger block that is chamfered at the corners. The shaft has a moulded neck and an urn finial, with four identical painted shields representing the Tweeddales clasping the urn.
