Description
4-6 Church Street in Tranent is a late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay building that has been divided into shops on the ground floor with accommodation above. There are additions, including a forestair at the rear. The exterior features bull-faced cement render with cement dressings. On the ground floor, there are two linked shop fronts, each with a door, while the first floor has a small window at the center and larger windows in the outer bays.
To the south, there is an adjoining property, and to the north, a driveway leads to a blank gable elevation. The sash and case windows have a four-pane glazing pattern. The building is topped with ashlar coped skews, red pantiles, and has end stacks.
