The Manse, Nisbet Road, Gullane

The Manse on Nisbet Road in Gullane is a two-storey house with an attic, designed by E Auldjo Jamieson in 1911. The building features a harled exterior with a red engineering brick base course and a sandstone eaves course.

On the southeast elevation, the house has three bays, with a prominent canted, full-height, four-light window at the center that has tile hanging. There are tripartite windows on the ground floor and bipartite windows above. The roof includes two flat-roofed bipartite dormers.

The northeast elevation showcases an advanced door with a stair block at the center, topped with a cat-slide roof. The doorway is located on the west side of the advanced bay, framed in ashlar with chamfered and moulded margins. It features a four-centred arch and a panelled door with small-pane upper panels, along with small single-storey projections.

The east and west elevations each have two projecting, linked clasping bipartite attic dormers that bridge between the stacks. The sash and case windows exhibit an 8, 9, and 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is steeply pitched, partly piended, and covered with red tiles, featuring sweeping eaves and harled, coped stacks. A coped rubble boundary wall surrounds the property.
