Description
Dominic Molloy's Cottage, located on Main Street in Ormiston, is an early 18th century, two-storey building that was formerly a double house and has recently undergone significant restoration. The structure is made of roughly squared rubble sandstone, with bull-faced cement repairs along the edges.
The south elevation features four bays, with a doorway positioned at the outer right. The remaining bays include windows at the ground level and in the outer bays on the first floor. There is a bullseye window at the center of the first floor.
The east side gable is blank, as it is closely adjacent to a neighboring building. The north elevation has been substantially altered and repaired, featuring modern windows.
The building has a mix of small-pane and modern glazing patterns. The roof is steeply pitched, covered with red pantiles and slate at the eaves easing course. Ashlar coped skews with a beak skewputt are present, along with a stack at the east end.
