Description
The Cart Shed and Granary in Coates is a mid-19th century structure featuring a six-bay cartshed and granary with an adjoining stair. It is constructed from roughly squared and snecked whinstone rubble, accented with cream droved sandstone ashlar dressings and chamfered reveals at the ground level. The building has five segmental cart arches and a pend to the outer right, along with a narrow segmental pedestrian arch in the curtain wall leading to the stair on the right side. The granary includes three half-louvred windows. The roof is covered with red pantiles and has ashlar coped skews.
