Description
This is a mid 19th century lodge located north of Spittal House, which is listed separately. It is a single-story building with a piend roof. The lodge is constructed of squared and snecked sandstone with ashlar dressings. A central door is flanked by windows, each with a hood mould. The windows are sash and case with a 16-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered in grey slates, with shouldered and rendered end stacks. References to this building appear on the OS Map of Haddingtonshire from 1892, in C McWilliam’s LOTHIAN (1978) on page 75, and in J M Robinson’s GEORGIAN MODEL FARMS (1983) on page 159.
