Description
The Cartshed and Granary at Wester Keith is an early 19th century structure featuring a three-bay cartshed and granary, with an additional lower bay that was formerly open-sided to the north. It is built of rubble with pink ashlar dressings and has a corrugated asbestos roof, while the lower bay has a slate roof. The building includes square-headed cart arches and top-hinged timber casements for the granary openings.
On the west elevation, there are three cart arches on the right side, with three granary openings above them. To the left, there is a single cart arch leading to the additional bay, which has brick infill and a boarded gable on the left return gable, concealing a blinded chamfered window for the granary. The south gable features a forestair leading to a stone slab platform and a door to the granary. The east elevation has three granary openings at wallhead level, with a raggle beneath, and rubble infill for the addition on the right side.
Inside, the granary has plastered walls and a rough-hewn timber collar roof.
