Description

Viewfield is a late 18th century, 2-storey, 3-bay classical house located on Countess Road in Dunbar. The building is constructed of rubble with ashlar quoins on the front and plain raised margins.

The entrance front features a 12-pane glazing pattern. There is a porch addition to the central door, which obscures a simple moulded architrave. Inside, there is a broad panelled door with painted glass upper panels. At the rear, a central round arched stair window has been altered to form a doorway in its lower part, which is accessed by a forestair. The roof is slate-covered and piended.

The interior has been altered since the house was divided, with the staircase removed. Additionally, there are simple ashlar gate piers that are linked to outer piers by quadrant walls.
