Description

27 High Street in Dunbar is a terrace of two mirrored houses, built around 1820. Each house is two stories tall with a basement and features three bays. The front is made of ashlar stone, while the basement and rear are constructed from rubble. The buildings have rusticated quoins, a raised band course, and lintel and cill courses, along with an eaves cornice and a blocking course. Central Ionic doorpieces lead to panelled doors with plate glass fanlights above, situated at the top of steps that extend over the basement.

The rear of number 27 has an altered extension, while number 29 retains a 12-pane glazing pattern, whereas number 27 has been modified to include plate glass. The slate roof features paired piended roofs at the rear that adjoin the main gable. Arrowhead railings are present at the front of the property.

Inside, there is a winding cantilevered stone staircase and shuttered windows.
