Description
The Pavilion in Balgay Park, Dundee, is a brick-built structure dating from 1877, designed to serve as a public convenience. The front elevation features 12 slim cast-iron columns resting on stone bases, adorned with ornate spandrels. A central canted section projects forward and is accessed by steps. The rear wall and ceiling are timber boarded. The side and rear elevations are constructed of red brick, accented with yellow brick bands, pilaster strips, and a dentil cornice. The windows have ashlar triple lights. The building is topped with piended slate roofs and includes a central timber bellcote with a swept roof and lead finial.
