Description

Style of William Scott, circa 1860. 2-storey classically

detailed ashlar villa.

S ELEVATION: 5-bay, central entrance porch corniced on

square piers and Roman Ionic columns in antis. Windows in

architraves, with consoled cills and cornices at ground

floor. 1st floor cill band, mutule cornice and blocking

course. Quoined angles.

Sides and rear obscured by modern additions. Piended slate

roof, stacks removed, modern dormer. Sash and case windows,

4-pane glazing pattern.

INTERIOR: radically altered.

L-PLAN LODGE: porch in re-entrant angle. W gable canted.

Margined sash and case windows, 6-pane glazing pattern.

Piended slate roofs, stack at angle. 2 square gatepiers,

3rd removed. Rubble-built boundary walls.
