Lodge, Fernbrae, 329 Perth Road, Dundee

Fernbrae is a 2-storey villa built around 1860 in the style of William Scott. The building features classical detailing and is constructed of ashlar stone.

The southeast elevation has five bays and a central entrance porch supported by square piers and Roman Ionic columns set in antis. The windows are framed with architraves and have consoled sills and cornices on the ground floor. There is a cill band on the first floor, a mutule cornice, and a blocking course. The corners of the building are quoined.

The sides and rear of the villa are obscured by modern additions. It has a piended slate roof, with stacks removed and a modern dormer. The windows are sash and case with a 4-pane glazing pattern.

The interior has been radically altered.

There is also an L-plan lodge with a porch in the re-entrant angle and a canted west gable. It features margined sash and case windows with a 6-pane glazing pattern. The lodge has piended slate roofs and a stack at the angle. There are two square gatepiers, with a third one removed, and rubble-built boundary walls.
