Description
7 Farington Terrace is a one-storey and attic Arts and Crafts villa built around 1929 by C G Soutar (Mclaren Sons and Soutar). The building is harled and whitewashed, featuring steep swept roofs.
The south elevation has four bays, with an arched garden entrance on the left and two central five-light windows, each topped by a four-light piend-roofed, tile-hung dormer. To the right, there is an advanced steep gabled bay with a five-light bow window that extends through both floors. The east elevation includes a coved ashlar entrance set within a catslide formed by a steep gable. There is a canted bay on the left with a piended slate roof, along with one ground floor and two first floor mullioned windows, plus an attic slit window.
At the rear, the steep swept roofs are interrupted by a prominent central gable featuring single light windows, with a piended dormer to the right. A two-storey gabled wing is located at the northwest. The roofs are covered in red tiles, and there are two large stacks in the roof slopes of the south elevation. The windows are primarily mullioned and transomed casements, with small leaded panes in the first floor and upper parts of the ground floor windows.
