Description
8 Dudhope Terrace in Dundee is an Italianate villa built around 1860. It is two stories tall and has three bays, featuring an ashlar front with angle quoins and rubble-built sides and rear.
The southeast elevation includes a central entrance with a broken pediment, supported by console brackets and a keystone. On either side, there are canted bays topped with bracketed lead roofs. The first floor has windows with margined frames and label stops.
The sides of the villa are constructed from rubble and include single-storey service wings. The roof has ashlar shouldered wallhead stacks and is covered with slate, featuring both piended and platformed sections with bracketed eaves.
The windows are sash and case with a four-pane glazing pattern. The boundary walls consist of low ashlar at the front and high rubble-built walls at the rear.
