Description

Braehead House, located at 4-6 Dundas Street in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, dates from around 1840. This two-storey, three-bay house is constructed from squared rubble with large irregular long and short dressings, topped by a concrete tile roof. The left side features a concrete block chimney stack, while the right side has a stone stack.

On the west elevation, there is a central margined door with two stone steps leading up to it. The door has a modern fanlight that is not in keeping with the original style, and 'Braehead House' is painted on the lintel above. The house has twelve-pane sash and case windows with painted margins, with two on the ground floor and three on the first floor. The roof has skew gables with skew ends and capped stacks.

The south gable features two widely spaced, symmetrical eight-pane sash and case windows on both the ground and first floors.
