23-29 Crichton Street, Dundee

23-29 Crichton Street is a late 19th-century commercial building designed by William Mackison. It is four storeys tall with an attic and features five bays, with shopfronts on the ground floor. The building is constructed from cream ashlar sandstone and has a grey slate Mansard roof. The shopfronts are pilastered and corniced, with a cill and lintel course on the first floor, a corbelled cill course on the third floor, and a wallhead course with a cornice. The angle pilasters are channelled on the first floor and paired on the third. The windows are single and bipartite, featuring two-pane timber sash and case designs with architraves. The second-floor windows have segmental and lugged architraves, while the third-floor windows are segmental-headed. The building also has ashlar-coped skews and corniced axial stacks.

On the front elevation, there is a pilastered doorpiece at the centre of the ground floor, flanked by shopfronts (which have been altered). The upper floors have windows arranged with bipartite designs in the centre, flanked by single and bipartite windows. The roof features a rooflight surrounded by two round-headed dormers and two bipartite box dormers.
