Description
17 and 19 Crichton Street is an early 19th century, four-storey building with an attic and four bays, designed for commercial use with shopfronts on the ground floor. The exterior is made of pinkish grey sandstone ashlar featuring cherry-cocking, and it has a grey slate roof. The upper floors have margined windows with two-pane timber sash and case frames, although the frames on the third floor are modern and do not match the original character.
The front elevation includes modern shopfronts at the ground level, four windows on the upper floors, two modern rooflights, and two modern box dormers. There are also remnants of an ashlar-coped skew and skewblock on the right side of the building. The interior has not been seen.
