Description

Style of Leslie Ower circa 1904. 2-storey and basement Arts

and Crafts villa, red rock-faced rubble with ashlar dressings.

S elevation: 3-storey in fall of ground, 3-bay. Square bay

projects at left through 3 floors with tripartite windows

and pyramidal roof. Unfortunate sun lounge extension to

ground floor at right. 2 1st floor bipartites with gabletheads

and timber bargeboards.

W elevation: canted bay at left. 4-light ground, 2-light

1st floor windows. Timber columned piend-roofed porch

in re-entrant with tall iron finial. 2 single lights and

steep gable over with vertical timber strips on a cross

beam at attic level.

N elevation: similar wide gable over large off-centre stair

window. Service wing to E has smaller version of similar

gable. Garage inserted at 1st floor.

Piended, gabled and platformed red tiled roof with overhanging

eaves, ridge tiles and Art Nouveau finials. Gable end

stacks with slight batter.

windows sash and case, 2-pane glazing pattern.

Square gatepiers with ball finials. Boundary wall broken

for vehicular access to garage.
