Description
This building at 126-132 High Street in Dumfries dates back to 1865 but has undergone significant alterations. It stands three storeys high and features seven bays, with shops on the ground floor. A large modern two-storey shop front on the right has replaced the original bays. The second-floor windows are supported by a steel beam. The exterior is made of red ashlar and includes architraves. The original central door's pediment still survives, along with a round-headed first-floor window above it that has a consoled pediment. The cornice over the ground floor remains on the left side, and the first-floor windows are corniced and aproned. The main cornice features paired brackets, and there are end stacks on the slate roof.
