Description
This building at 117 High Street in Dumfries dates from the later 19th century and consists of three storeys with three narrow bays. The inner bay is set forward at the first floor and features a gabled section above the wall-head, which includes an attic oculus. This section is supported by corbelled shafts on either side of the inner first floor window. The exterior is made of red ashlar and includes gothic hood-moulds, with basket-arched single outer windows and bipartite inner windows, all fitted with plate glass sashes. The ground floor is occupied by a modern shop. The first floor windows are aproned, and there are string courses at the cill levels, decorative eaves, skews, and end stacks. The roof is covered with slate.
