Description

1826 (dated). Cottage set at SE corner of adjoining obtusely-angled walled garden.

GARDEN COTTAGE: single storey and attic, 3-bay cottage. Rubble, painted to E and W elevations.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: piended open timber porch at centre; panelled door, with letterbox fanlight; small raised plaque dated "1826" above door. Window to outer bays. Gabled dormer window above centre bay. Lean-to slightly recessed to left, with door to right and window. Lean-to canted to right, with door; garden wall, running N, adjoined to right.

W (GARDEN) ELEVATION: door to centre; window in outer bays. 2-light gabled dormer windows above outer bays. Lean-to slightly recessed to left, with door to right. Extension of lean-to to right, with window and door to N; garden wall, running W, adjoined to right.

N AND S ELEVATIONS: blank above adjoining lean-tos.

Plate glass glazing in sash and case windows, small-pane glazing to dormer windows. Red sandstone coped skews. Coped gablehead stacks to N and S. Graded grey slates.

WALLED GARDEN: rubble wall; red sandstone flat-coping. 3 doors.
