Description
Queen Mary's Bridge is a footbridge that spans Penkiln Burn, originally dating from the 16th century, with 18th-century elements and rebuilt around 1960. The bridge is oriented on an east-west axis and features a double span with semicircular arches, the western overflow arch being smaller. It is constructed of rubble, with rubble voussoirs, and the arches spring from natural rock. A massive cutwater buttress is located to the north. The bridge has a modern handrail supported by rubble piers and concrete coping. It is adjoined to Cumloden Waulkmill to the northeast, with rubble walls extending to the south.
