Canal Cottage, Castle Kennedy, Lochinch Heritage Estate

Canal Cottage, located in the Castle Kennedy area of the Lochinch Heritage Estate, is a single-storey, six-bay cottage built in the later 19th century. It is situated next to a kitchen garden. The cottage is constructed from whinstone and features quoins, red sandstone doorpiece dressings, and stop-chamfered reveals. The eaves are supported by timber brackets, and there is decorative timber fretwork on the gables.

On the southeast (entrance) elevation, there are glazed timber doors in the penultimate bays on both the left and right sides. The central gabled bays contain two single windows, while the outer left and right gabled bays feature bipartite windows.

The northeast (side) elevation has two single windows. The cottage is fitted with plate glass and four-pane timber sash and case windows. It has a grey slate roof with coped ridge stacks and circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1999.
