East Lodge, Castle Kennedy, Lochinch Heritage Estate

East Lodge at Castle Kennedy, part of the Lochinch Heritage Estate, dates from the later 19th century and is a single-storey, three-bay gate lodge. It is constructed from whinstone, featuring granite quoins and dressings, with timber bracketed eaves.

The entrance elevation has a central gabled timber porch that projects forward, topped with a timber finial. The porch includes a timber door and a shouldered letterbox fanlight. To the left, there is a single window, while the right side features a bipartite window.

On the south side, there is a pentice porch leading to a bipartite window in a gabled bay, which has a square panel and a timber finial. The north side mirrors this with a pentice porch to a bipartite window in a gabled bay on the left, a square panel, and a timber finial, along with a single window to the outer right.

The rear elevation has two single windows in the gabled bay on the outer left, with a modern window to the right. There is a timber and glass entrance door at the re-entrant angle to the left and a timber door leading to a lean-to on the right.

The lodge predominantly features 8-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, a corniced brick ridge stack, and circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1999. The property also includes square-plan stone gatepiers with pyramidal caps and a timber gate.
