Description
The Otter Inn, located at 18 Main Street in Elrig, is an early to early 19th-century single-storey, three-bay cottage that is part of a terraced row. The building is constructed from rubble and features narrow projecting cills.
On the east elevation facing Main Street, there is a modern door with a letterbox fanlight at the center, flanked by windows in the outer bays. The south elevation is attached to No 16 Main Street, while the north elevation is adjoined to No 20 Main Street.
The cottage has plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows. It features a red sandstone coped mutual skew that is shared with the south side. The chimney stacks are painted and partly rendered rubble, and the roof is covered with purple slates. There are two modern rooflights on the east pitch, and cobblestones are laid in front of the cottage.
