Description
The Old Parish Church in Dalton dates from around 1700, possibly 1704. It features an unusual large finial that was originally located on the north gable of Dalton Old Church. This finial was removed in the 19th century when a heating system was installed. It was later placed at its current location, between the porch and the tower of the present parish church, likely when the church was built around 1895. The finial has a plain urn shape on a pyramidal base with a tall flaming finial, and it is raised on a square plinth, all made of ashlar.
