Description
This signpost, located at the junction of the A712 and B794 in Corsock, was made by Smith Patterson & Co Ltd of Blaydon, likely in the late 1920s. It is a painted cast-iron signpost featuring two arms. The post is tapered and painted in black and white stripes, with ring shafts and a conical finial at the top. Near the base of the post, there is a maker's mark that reads "SMITH PATTERSON & Co Ld BLAYDON" in raised lettering. The arms of the signpost are made of white-painted cast iron, with chamfered corners, black raised lettering, and black-painted edges.
