Description
Corsock Bridge is a late 18th-century single arch stone bridge that spans the River Urr, located on the boundaries of the Parton and Kirkpatrick-Durham parishes. The bridge has an approximate span of 48 feet and features a carriageway that is about 17 feet wide.
The structure includes bull-faced springers and a rubble soffit, while the finely dressed red sandstone voussoirs are adorned with a band of cyma reversa moulding at the upper arch-ring. The bridge is supported by splayed rubble abutments and drum terminal piers that are topped with conical sandstone caps. Additionally, there is a rubble parapet with sandstone coping.
