Description
Knockvennie Bridge is an earlier 19th-century, two-arch stone bridge that spans the River Urr near Knockvennie Smithy. Each arch has an approximate span of 36 feet and features segmental arches. The bridge is supported by central bull-faced cutwaters and rubble buttresses. It has dressed springers, polished red sandstone voussoirs, and a rubble soffit, along with parapets and abutments. The abutments are shallow and splayed, with terminal pairs that have pyramidal sandstone caps.
