Description

Holmhead is an earlier 19th-century house, constructed with a symmetrical design and featuring a single-storey, piended-roofed wing to the west. The exterior is of painted rubble, accentuated with polished stone margins and quoins. A central, gabled timber porch has been added. Windows are single-light, sash and case with 12-pane glazing. Two canted dormers, each topped with spike finials, project from the attics. The rear elevation mirrors the front, with a prominent, full-height stair tower centrally placed and capped with a conical roof. The roof is slate, with tall, corniced wallhead stacks. The house appears on the 1854 Ordnance Survey map.
