Description
The Old Temperance Inn in Corsock is a mid to late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay house constructed of painted rubble. It features flanking recessed single-storey wings. The building has a boulder basecourse and polished raised margins, suggesting it may have been raised from a single-storey cottage.
The central doorway is adorned with a narrow fanlight that has gold lettering stating 'Old Temperance Inn', and it opens to a panelled glazed door. The windows are sash and case style with a four-pane glazing pattern. The roofs are slate with sandstone skews and coped end stacks.
On the rear elevation, there are paired windows on the ground right with brick jambs. One of the windows has modern aluminium frames, while the others maintain the same glazing style as the front. The left wing has a piend roof with a cart arch to the right and sliding garage doors to the left. The right wing is slightly lower, featuring a pitched roof and two 12-pane sash windows.
