Library And Freemason's Hall, 14 High Street, Lochmaben

The Library and Freemason's Hall, located at 14 High Street in Lochmaben, is a mid to late 19th century building. It is a two-storey structure with three bays, although the ground floor has been converted, likely in the early 20th century, to feature six bays. There is a long two-storey rear wing. The exterior is constructed of red ashlar stone, polished at the ground level, with narrow-coursed and bull-faced stonework above, and defined margins.

The entrance is on the right and features a porch supported by Roman-Doric columns. Pilaster strips separate the bays. A cornice runs above the ground floor, and the ground floor windows have T-shaped glazing, while the upper windows are margined sashes. The building has straight skews, end stacks, and is topped with a roof made of graded slates.
