Description
The Bank of Scotland, located at 17 Dalrymple Street in Girvan, is a building from the mid-19th century. It is two storeys high and has six bays, constructed from ashlar stone. The central entrance features a pilastered doorpiece with a boldly bracketed segmental hood. This entrance is flanked by round-arched tripartite windows with bracketed cills, all set within pilasters that support a cornice above the ground floor. The outer pilasters are rusticated and topped with obelisk finials. On the first floor, there are six architraved windows with apron panels beneath them. The building is topped with a cornice and a balustraded parapet that has outer finials and a central broken segmental pediment above a decorative carved panel. It also has end stacks and a slate roof.
