Description
The Old Bridge in Shennanton is an earlier 18th century structure featuring two arches that span the River Bladnoch. It is currently in distressed condition and is constructed from rubble with dressed granite voussoirs and cutwater angles. The bridge includes V-cutwater buttresses that are flanked by segmental spans. Some of the voussoirs on the downstream side have fallen. The parapet and carriageway have been removed and the area is overgrown. The carriageway is approximately 8 feet wide.
