Star Inn, 11 Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart

The Star Inn, located at 11 Dashwood Square in Newton Stewart, is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house that has been converted to serve as an inn. The building is rendered with painted margins. At the center, there is a corniced door flanked by piers with block capitals, leading to a deep-set, panelled door. To the left of the door, there are two closely grouped windows, while there is one window to the right. A boarded fascia runs between the lintel and cill levels of the ground and first-floor windows, with one window in each bay on the first floor.

The windows feature plate glass glazing in sash and case style, with watered glass in the lower sashes on the ground floor. The roof is covered with grey concrete tiles. The building shares a mutual stack with No 12 Dashwood Square and has a large box dormer along with a flat-roofed extension at the rear.
