Description

Peddie and Kinnear, architects, dated 1884. French Renaissance 2-storey symmetrical hall. 5-bay elevation to Dashwood Square, 4-bay return elevation to Queen Street. Polished ashlar, all tripartite windows with sash and case, 2-pane glazing to ground, multi-pane top-hoppers to 1st. Advanced end bays with high pyramidal French roofs at angles. Main entrance at centre of Dashwood Square elevation, pilastered doorpiece with consoled pediment with acroteria, panelled double-leaf door. Inscribed date 1884 in tympanum.

Band course and cornice over ground and 1st, plain eaves parapet. Eaves band inscribed The Mcmillan Hall over centre.

Slate roofs, pair of tall wall head square stacks at penultimate bays. RAILINGS: Cast-iron decorative railings to Dashwood Square elevation with ornamental archway and lampbracket over gateway.
