Description

The Reformed Presbyterian Church, located on Princes Street in Newton Stewart, was designed by Richard Parker in 1878. Originally a United Presbyterian church, it later served as a church hall and is now a furniture store. The building is a rectangular hall church with a three-bay aislesless nave. It features rubble walling with squared granite quoins and margins.

On the eastern gable, there is a small gabled porch that includes double-leaf doors. The nave has single light lancets with cast-iron framed 16-pane glazing and simple traceried upper sections. The roof is slate, with stepped sandstone skews and a cross finial on the eastern gable. The southern and western walls are harled.
