Description

Dated 1868 on gable chimney. 2-storey terrace of houses, No 2 3-bay, Nos 4 and 6 pair of 2-bay houses. Snecked bull-faced and squared whinstone with flat raised margins and rusticated quoins. No 2, 3-bay with central pilastered doorway, panelled door with fanlight. Nos 4 and 6 with paired central doors, No 6 with good panelled door, both with fanlights. All single light windows, all sash and case with 4-pane glazing. All with slate roofs, corniced axial brick stacks with ceramic quoins, octagonal cans. 2-window gable wall to No 2 Princes Street adjoins Dashwood Square. DASHWOOD SQUARE ELEVATION: similarly detail 3 + 1 bay, 2-storey house linked by wide pend (with room above), to gable of No 2 Princes Street. Central pilastered doorpiece; panelled door with fanlight. All single light windows, sash and case with 2-pane plate glass glazing. Single light window over pend. Slate roofs. End skews to left, coped end and axial stacks. Rear elevations painted rubble, full height brick exstension to No 4.
