Masonic Arms Hotel, Ann Street, Gatehouse Of Fleet

The Masonic Arms Hotel, located on Ann Street in Gatehouse of Fleet, dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. This two-storey, three-bay inn features harled walling with painted raised margins and smooth rusticated quoins. The wide central bay includes a tripartite doorpiece, with a door that has glazed panels, flanked by windows with timber mullions and small panes. All windows are sash and case; the ground floor has two-pane plate glass, while the first floor's central window is tripartite with narrow blind sidelights, all featuring multi-pane glazing. The building has end skews, coped end stacks, and slate roofs.

To the left, there is a lower two-storey single bay extension, which has a door with a fanlight on the ground floor and a single window above, topped with a lean-to piended roof.

The flanks are painted rubble, and there is a large modern conservatory on the right return. The rear is unpainted and features a single-storey harled modern lean-to porch. The interior has been much altered.
