Description
5 Ann Street is a later 19th century cottage, possibly a reworking of an earlier structure. It is a two-storey, three-bay building with the first floor breaking the eaves. The exterior is harled, featuring contrasting painted ashlar surrounds around the door and canted windows.
The street-facing elevation has a centrally located modern door with a letterbox fanlight above it. Large canted windows flank the door, each topped with decorative brattishing. The first-floor windows in the outer bays are set within gabled dormerheads that have decorative barge boarding.
To the north of the cottage is a piend-roofed outbuilding, while a row of cottages is attached to the south. The windows are fitted with plate glass glazing in sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slates, and the building features ashlar coped skews and painted brick end stacks.
