Description

The Clock Tower in Gatehouse of Fleet was built in 1871 and stands 75 feet high with a tall, decorative square plan. It is constructed from squared rubble craigniter granite, featuring dressed quoins and bands of granite at the top stage. At the base, there is a door, and above it are slit windows. The top stage is banded with granite and has clock faces on each side. Above this, there is an open stage supported by granite columns, which hold up a corbelled decorative parapet.
